Victoria Carlin is inspired by "in the moment spontaneity," painting in plein-air. One can feel the freshness in her work as she taps into the natural rhythm of nature.

She paints "moods" and her work delights viewers. Some paintings show specific times of day such as late evening or early morning. These impressions of quiet moments in time are a trademark of Victoria’s work.

“Landscape is like poetry,” Victoria tells her students, as she leads painting workshops in Italy, Ireland and Canada. Victoria regularly takes international trips to teach intensive two-week workshops for all painters of varying ability from beginners through advanced.

Victoria paints in all seasons. She immerses herself in the world around her. Inspired by spending a large portion of her adult life living abroad, she has a strong passion for travel and enjoys searching for new settings. Among her favorite places to paint are Italy and Israel because of the unique terrain and the immense lighting variations. She is equally inspired to take day trips to convey the scenic beauty of her native Long Island, New York.
